Shannon is delighted to have joined MoM in 2015. She graduated from Columbia University’s Nurse-Midwifery program in 2003 and has spent 11 years caring for underserved communities in Manhattan and NJ. She most recently worked for 7 years in the Metropolitan Hospital Midwifery Service where she provided full-scope care to an amazing community and polished up her Spanish. Prior to becoming a midwife, Shannon studied molecular biology and biochemistry at Wesleyan University while focusing on gender studies. She was introduced to MoM in 2006 when they provided wonderful care for her pregnancy. Her son was born into Amanda’s capable hands. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, son and daughter.
